Born in Ottawa, saxophonist Chris Maskell is an emerging artist in the Eastern Canadian jazz scene.
Chris has extensive performing experience, and has most recently appeared in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa with his own groups. He has performed with Josh Rager, Roddy Ellias, Petr Cancura, the TD Jazz Youth Summit, the Yamaha All-Star Band, McGill Jazz Orchestra I and the Nic Gaumond Octet, among others. Additionally, he has appeared at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival, Merrickville's Jazz Festival and the Ottawa Blues Festival with a variety of groups.
Chris attended the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, where he completed his Master of Music in Jazz Performance. During his time at the school, he studied privately with Joe Sullivan, Donny Kennedy, Frank Lozano and Rémi Bolduc.
